Derek

Steph:  What do you think that they would do at a store if you brought Monopoly money and tried to buy some milk?

Derek:  They’d probably tell you they can’t accept it.

Steph:  Ah, that’s too bad. I was thinking about doing that. I’m totally broke.

Derek:  Yeah. Well, there’s a lot of cash in a Monopoly game. Maybe you could just hand it to ‘em real quick and run out with the milk.

Steph:  Hmm. That’s a good idea. Well, I mean, it depends on the store you go into, I guess. Do you think that there’s any place that would take fake money?

Derek:  Ya know, I have no idea. Why don’t you give it a try and find one?

Steph:  Ok. I’ll go check it out. I’ll let you know. I’ll report to you later, ok?

Derek:  Cool. Thanks.

Discussion

This is a pretty silly conversation. It’s one of those ‘what if’ questions. A ‘what if’ question is when you ask someone something that is pretty impossible.
I like to ask ‘what if’ questions at parties. It’s kind of like small talk. You get to be creative in your answers and sometimes it sparks a good conversation.
Try it out the next time you are at a party. It’s so much fun!
