Mood management is really important when learning English. There are a lot of emotional ups and downs when trying to learn a new language. It's frustrating and not the easiest thing to do. That's why most people fail.
Even if you know you want to study, it's so hard to stick with a goal because there will definitely be times when you want to quit. The key is to be able to understand and predict your bad moods and know how to deal with them.
You should write down your goal when you are "clear headed". That means when you aren't stressed out and you really know what you want to do. Write down how much time you want to study every day and what your reasons for studying are.
Also write down what you want to tell yourself when you are in a mood where you feel like quitting. When you are feeling this way, go and read what you wrote when you were "clear headed". Use that to remind yourself of what you really want to do. Listen to your true advice and don't do what your quitting personality wants you to do. Stick with your original plan no matter how you feel. This exercise will help you realize that you need to keep your emotions in check during the tough times. You will also realize how differently you can think and feel during different times of the month. When you read your goal, you will know the right thing to do.
