How do you like to enjoy your weekends? Many people in the world are excited to be done working on Friday night, so they go out. Some people choose to go dancing and stay out late. And that can be really fun. Some people like to stay out late because it relieves some of the pressure involved with working during the week. But staying out late can really come at a price.

If you stay out late, you will be tired the next day, and feel terrible! No matter how much fun you had the night before, the morning after staying out late can be awful. There are many things that feel good, but often, they can come at a price.

Jessica and Marni are talking about going on a date. Find out more in today’s English lesson about bad things that can come along with good things.

Marni:  How was the play?

Jessica:  “Romeo & Juliet” was amazing, but it really came at a price.

Marni:  What do you mean?

Jessica:  I barely saw my friends or talked to my family. And going on a date was never going to happen.

Marni:  Are you dating?

Jessica:  I guess so. I don’t really know how to get back in the game.

Marni:  Have you tried online dating?

Jessica:  I do have a profile set up.

Marni:  OK. What about speed dating? I hear that’s fun.

Jessica:  I don’t think that’s for me. Too much pressure!

Marni:  How do you feel about being set up?

Jessica:  I might be open to that. But I want to see a picture first, because I don’t like blind dates.

Marni:  Dating can come at a price. Most of the people you meet aren’t going to be “the one.” But it can be fun.

Jessica:  We’ll see.

Gary:  Surprise!

Jessica:  You guys…

Marni:  We missed you so much!

Jessica had an amazing time playing the role of Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet.” But she says the experience really came at a price. She didn’t see her friends or family very much, and she could never go on a date. That’s probably why she is willing to be set up by Marni. What could go wrong?

Marni is really excited to help Jessica find a boyfriend. She thinks online dating and speed dating are both good options. She admits that it is hard to find “the one,” but she is happy to help Jessica. She’s also excited to party with Jessica at her surprise party!

Do you agree that dating comes at a price? What else do you do that comes at a price?

Industrialization comes at a price. It makes our lives better but our environment worse. The advent of smart phones comes at a price, too. We tend to play with our phones instead of interacting with the people around us.

Yeah! I had two entertaining trips last week, one on Mon and the other on Thurs. It was fun and I enjoyed my time, but it came at a really high price, because I had to get absented the rest of the days because I was tired of Monday journey, therefore I missed a lot of classes in college, and semester exams are on the doors, so having fun really came at a price.

With me, honesty comes at a price. As soon as you share your weakness, people accept you as a looser and their respect to you is not the same.
So, bite a bullet and don’t complain.:) but it’s fake and i don’t like fake. :)
