So, you’re a guy and you wanna get together with your co-worker and her friends. Totally normal! If you don’t get invited, that’s ok! Invite yourself! Normally, this tactic works. But not tonight because tonight is ladies night.

Dialog

1. Listen and Read - Listen to the audio and read the dialog at the same time.

2. Study - Read the dialog again to see how the vocab words are used.

Beth

Derek: So, Beth, What are you doin’ tonight?

Beth: Well, I’m going to hit the town with some friends. And, we’ll probably have dinner and then go out to some bars.

Derek: Oh really? Sounds like fun. Umm, would you mind if I went along?

Beth: Well. It’s actually ladies night. So, I don’t know if you, uh, can hang with all the girls.

Derek: Well, that’s ok. I’ll kinda stay out of sight if you want. But I would like to go.

Beth: Well. How ‘bout a different night?

Derek: All right. I guess.

Beth: It’s ladies night.

Derek: It’s ladies night. We’ll have fun anyway.

Discussion

When I go out with my girlfriends, we have such a great time. I don’t know what it is. Large numbers of girls go crazy when they go out. It’s just so much fun to go to a club, have a few drinks and dance the night away. We always paint the town red when we celebrate ladies night.
