Steph: So Derek, have you ever heard of a documentary called Home Movie?
Derek: Uh, no I haven’t. What’s it about?
Steph: Well, it’s about the different kinds of places that people decide to call home.
Derek: Really? Like, um, regular houses and cardboard boxes and.
Steph: Well, there weren’t a whole lot of regular houses in there. There was, like, a bomb shelter that someone decided to buy and make a home in.
Derek: That’s pretty interesting
Steph: Yeah. And there was this other home that was totally automatic. Like the guy wanted to make coffee so he pressed a button and the coffee pot turned on and the coffee cup was, like, inserted under the coffee pot, under the coffee maker. And then the coffee was given to him by a robot.
Derek: That’s almost like the, uh, cartoons we used to watch.
Steph: Totally. Yeah. It is a little bit like that. It was a weird movie.
Derek: Sounds pretty weird. Maybe I’ll be in it next time.
Steph: Better get yourself a weird house.
Derek: I’ll try.

Discussion
This was a seriously bizarre movie. Before I got it, I had no idea that people could actually live in a bomb shelter.
It really helped open my eyes to what is possible. Since seeing it, I have considered buying a building or an old church and converting it into a home.
Wouldn’t that be fun?
