very popular; doing very well

Diddy thinks that Justin Bieber is on fire. But there’s no need to call the fire department. Diddy doesn’t mean that everybody’s favorite teen pop star is literally burning. And Diddy hasn’t gone crazy, either.
When someone or something is hot, it’s very cool and popular. And fire is very, very hot. So, when we say that someone is on fire, we mean that he is very, very hot, or popular. You can also say that someone is on fire if he is doing really well and having a lot of success.
If anyone is hot enough to be on fire right now, it’s Justin Bieber. At sixteen years old, he’s already worked with stars as big as Usher and Justin Timberlake. His first album, My World 2.0, debuted at number one. And now Diddy is such a big fan of Justin, he’d even let him borrow one of his cars!
What other stars are on fire right now? Are you on fire at school or work?
